The Artisans Coop, long talked project of area artists here in the county, has become a reality on May 1, 2007.  The Coop is renting the old Shepard Antique store on the main road (Rt 92) in Green Bank.   The Artist Coop is now open on a regular daily schedule and will have a winter schedule so be sure to contact them for the days and times.

As part of our support, the Arts Council have donated a monthly dollar amount to help offset the financial burden associated with operating a store front on a 7 day a week basis.  In the future, we can see this facility being not only a center for art display and sales but also for art instruction and mentorship.  

A big thank you goes to Mike Garrigan and Kay Gillespie for the countless hours they have put into this project.  Their enthusiasm, as well as well as their business experience, has been very uplifting to all of those artisans who have for a very long time wanted such an outlet in this community.
